Pittsburgh International Airport

REPUTATION

Pittsburgh International Airport upholds a strong reputation, as it has been ranked among the top airports in America and worldwide by J.D. Power and Associates, Official Airline Guide, and Conde Nast Traveler magazine. The main factors for this reputation are the airports easy to navigate layout, plethora of shops, and various restaurants that are reasonably priced.

ARRIVAL PROCEDURES

When exiting any flight that lands at Pittsburgh International, you will be in either terminal A, B, C, OR D. All passengers will continue to the central core where they are led to the rail system by designated escalators. This rail system connects the airside terminal that you just landed at and the landside terminal where you will find baggage claim. Once you have boarded the tram and taken it to the landside terminal, you will be brought right to baggage claim where all carousels are accessible. Unlike larger airports with spread out terminals, the central cores of the airside and landside terminals make it easy for business travelers to access the A, B, C, and D as well as various baggage carousels.

FOOD AND BEVERAGE

Whether you are arriving or departing from Pittsburgh International Airport, there are a plethora of restaurants and shops at the landside and airside terminals. For the landside terminal, there is the City of Bridges restaurant and Au Bon Pain. It depends what you are looking for, so if you are in the mood for a quick cafe wrap, salad, bagel, danish, coffee, or tea, Au Bon Pain is your answer. If you are looking for a sit down meal with a wider selection on the menu, then the City of Bridges restaurant is the choice for you. As these eateries are before the tram, there is a smaller selection to choose from. However, there's no need to panic, a bigger selection is waiting at the airside terminal after you exit the tram. There is everything from Mcdonalds to Friday's, however, I would recommend the O'brien's Grille & Pub. You don't get the feel of a chain restaurant, there is good quality cooking, and the menu serves irish and american dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

LODGING

Having trouble with a flight delay? Having trouble leaving the airport to head to downtown Pittsburgh due to inclement weather? There is a solution for your problems. Attached to the landside terminal is the hyatt Hotel, where you will be accommodated and taken care of for a nights stay. Rates are subject to change, but feel free to call their front desk for any inquiries.
